dtrs5kprs Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Several days covered, very similar, but fish have moved a bit. There is still a good shallow bite, and a "mid depth" bite. Basically 6' range and the 15-25' range. Fish are feeding heavily on craws, the usual little green pumpkin type with the red/orange tip on the claws. Spots and largemouth are in or near brush, brown fish may be in it, but are as likely to be loosely associated with the brush. We are catching these fish on the little rig, fished at a dead stop. On occasion, especially spots in brush, one will grab it and load up as the bait sinks. Have thrown PBJ and every version of green. No visible preference to be seen. Both the 1/16 and 1/8 heads are working. Catching a real mix of blacks, spots, and brown fish. Bite does not taper off with sun, we left them biting at noon this morning. dtrs5kprs Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Not sure what happened to the pics of the K's. We are catching good K's in the 16" range. Wife lost a truly big one on Friday morning. We are seeing a lot of this wound on fish, same areas. Looks for all the world like something from river monsters, maybe some kind of eel/leech/lamprey critter.
Champ188 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Might not be a good thing to eat the ones with wounds. Just sayin, since the one pictured is a K and it's alright to keep and eat those. fishingaddiction 1

Droll. I'd rather eat Bart Simpson's three eyed fish than any bass. Champ188, Codywskeeter1521, Hammer time and 1 other 4
Hammer time Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Great pics, love those smiling faces of those youngsters. Awesome!
fishingaddiction Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Great reports on your time on the Rock. Good old fashion family fun at it's finest. Put several fish in the live well last Sunday for some pictures later and when I released them, the well had several of the same color craws you mention. Two small ones had just been eaten and were intact.....green pumpkin body with orange tips. Quillback 1 Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
