As a federal employee, I was told that the Chinese hacked our personal identifiable information. My friend, a rival Cub fan, said it wasn't the Chinese. It was Belechek and Mozeliak.

I love the term "hacked" that's being used. Makes it sound like a bunch of Russian spies. They were afraid their former employee left with intellectual property and found a few passwords and tried a few until they found the right one.

Hack-

2 [ intrans. ] use a computer to gain unauthorized access to data in a system : they hacked into a bank's computer.

So what they did is kind of like, exactly the dictionary definition of hacking. I think that is why the term "hacked" is used.

so I stand corrected.

I guess it was easy because they just typed in a password left over on the guys computer

Lunhow came to the Cardinals from a tech firm. He claims to have been fastidious in his password protection protocols. Somebody, either him or someone at the Cardinals is full of it.

Lunhow is saying that the information that was obtained would be obsolete within a month anyways so it's all not really as big of deal as everyone is making it out to be.

The Houston Chronicle reported Thursday that a third violation of the Houston Astros database by St. Louis Cardinals employees has been found during an ongoing FBI investigation. This news, along with the assertion by Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow that he didn't use stale passwords for the database, expands the scandal beyond what was initially thought.

Starting to get juicy.....

Oh, it's not about the value of what was stolen. It's about the fact it was stolen. More evidence of deeply-rooted immorality within the Cardinals organization.
