Dirtracer35 Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Just heard Stockton could get another 6" of rain by the time this Tropical system moves out. Got to wondering how high it will get. The record is "EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum contents, 1,450,000 acre-ft, Apr 28, 1973, elevation, 885.94 ft; minimum, since initial filling to minimum power pool level, 352,000 acre-ft, Aug 27 to Sep 4, 1970, elevation, 839.60 ft." Per the USGS water data. As she sits right now the lake level is 872.27 Any guesses on how high it will get? zarraspook 1
DADAKOTA Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Fished Stockton many years ago when the buck brush was several feet under water. Hammered the bass on salt and pepper sluggos. Twitch it down and watch them eat it.
dprice Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I remember 1993 slow rolling spinnerbaits just to tip the brush. Dprice priceheatingair.comÂ
Sac River Jim Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 i was on the lake when it hit last night. hardest rain i ever fished thru i ran bilge pump every 10 minutes an it would run for 5 minutes, the drain in the bottom of the ole ranger looked like a toilet bowl swirl lmbo!!!!! It had to have rained an inch an hour i'd say. Didn't bother the fish one bit. i had a good bag but unfortunately two other guys had better of course we only had 5 boats hahaha!!!! the others that usually fish with us had better sense i guess, darrell i found fish again similar pattern, same presentation and same locations as we got on em that first time. only difference they are strictly staged on those main lake points, nothing on the banks in between them. its best to skip point to point then turn around and hit em again. dprice 1

Fished about an hour with little luck, but decided to head back in just before the deluge. Sat on the bank about an hour to see if it would let up. Turned tail and headed home. Buddy has ATT cell phone, me T Mobile and we always lose signal at the lake. Is Verizon the way to go in that area?

It looks like after tomorrow summer will start hitting hard so I don't think it will rise too much. The key is to watch Truman which now stands about 10' above normal and has risen at a faster pace than Stockton in part because of the release from Stockton. If they feel Truman is getting too high and needs to release into the Lake of the Ozarks then Stockton might have to hold more water.

Aggressor1988long Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Verizon yes I can make calls if need be on the lake.
Members jbeenemd Posted June 19, 2015 Members Posted June 19, 2015 Before Verizon had LTE, I would have on and off signal back in Birch Branch, could head out to main lake and decent signal. Now that Verizon has upgraded to LTE, the reception is great.
Dutch Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 I can't get Verizon reception in lots of places on the lake but it is better than what I had before.
