nomolites Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Yea, I've seen thems off me port bow a time or two. Shiver me timbers! This cool weather should help the shallow bite. I hope to get out today and see what's up, looked like a ton of vacationers headed down last nite....better take some Dramamine
Members Omega jig bass Posted June 27, 2015 Members Posted June 27, 2015 Alright thanks I will break her open and will see what I can do.
Old plug Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 The next two weeks are going to be bad. with the 4th coming on a saturday a lot of summer people with take a weeks vacation and stretch it too 9 days. both sides of the 4 th. I see that Pirate ship all the time. I do bot mind he does not throw a big wake. I think for the most part I will stay on the dock.
nomolites Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Got a late start this morning so bro and I fished 8 to noon looking for suspended fish; too darn rough to fish contours. Did not locate the walleye but caught 6 LMB(1 keep), 1 white bass, 1 blue cat, and 36 crappie. It started slow but once the clouds were burned off the fish got hungry. All fish caught on cranks 25-28 ft deep over 65-70 FOW. We kept some but no green fish, not because I worship them - I simply don't like the taste Mike
Members Manny Posted June 28, 2015 Members Posted June 28, 2015 Wow very nice ! I got to try pulling cranks some time. Caught 6 bass this morning in the grand glaze arm. Had to work hard 1 off a bluff and two keepers in 2 to 5 foot off spinner bait back a cove. The rest were very speratic with no pattern.
fishinwrench Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Nice job on the Crappie, you're the only one I've heard of that it catching them that well.
rangerman Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Mike were you leadcoring it or using snapweights? Great job by the way!!
Flatbottom Boy Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Nice mess of crappies! Got out this morning on the Glaize till noon. A few keepers as the sun was coming up on the frog. Once the boat traffic picked up they were very speratic..pretty much stuck to a jig and lizzard and probably picked up half a dozen more. Awesome morning...59 degrees when I launched!
nomolites Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Mike were you leadcoring it or using snapweights? Great job by the way!! Leadcore; I don't like fishing snaps with the lake this rough; the lead softens the bounce a bit. Stopped to talk with a gent with a rig like yours in blue and silver; he was doing okay on crappie running bandits shallow over deep breaks but hadn't found walleye either. Those are some fine vessels. Hope you are well! Mike
Old plug Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I am going to fish for crappie Wednesday night. Last time we got about 25 real nice blacks.
