Seth Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 They have to figure something out for offense. It's a good thing the pitching has been so good this year. If the pitchers start getting rocked, thngs could get REALLY bad.
stlfisher Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Yeah, the offense is really anemic... I am just not sure who they can trade to pick up a bat. Our system is not stocked like the last several years....
moguy1973 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 With all the injuries they have had it's hard to fill all the spots. Doing as well as they have been with all the reserves has to be commended. I feel bad for Cooney who pitched a heck of a game last night and ended up with an ND. Bullpen has been disappointing as of late. Holliday coming back should help some and Carpenter needs to find his mojo again cause he's been looking awful. stlfisher 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
David Unnerstall Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 The team with the second best record in baseball is 4-1/2 games behind us and we have four games coming up with them starting tomorrow.
moguy1973 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I saw the standings at the beginning to tonight's game and couldn't believe the Bucs are that close. Guess the Cards are on sort of a slump here lately and the Bucs have been lights out? -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Quillback Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Tough division, Pittsburgh would be in first in either of the other 2 NL divisions. The Cubs would be in first in one division, and a game out in the other.
Seth Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 The NL Central definitely isn't as weak as it used to be. The Cubs and Pirates and would be doing well in nearly every other league in MLB. The Cubs could be in 1st place in some leagues and 2nd is nearly all of them.
stlfisher Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Huge win for the Redbird's last night...especially with 4 upcoming in Pittsburgh. With our offensive struggles as of late I will be thrilled with a 4 game split in Pittsburgh...they have been playing great.
stlfisher Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 Card's are rolling with an 8-1 stretch. A .500 September would still put the Card's at 101 wins. Impressive. Offense has looked good the last several weeks with a nice walk off homer by Moss last night. Piscotty has lived up to the hype and Pham looks like he will be solid in an reserve role next year.
moguy1973 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Offense sure does know how to come back when the starters do get in trouble that's for sure. Pitching is still key. Opponents have scored less than 400 runs against them this year. The next closest team in runs against is Houston that has given up 77 more runs before tonights game. That's pretty amazing. stlfisher 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
