Staying at Big Cedar 1st week of Aug. Where do we need to go from Big Cedar Lodge Marina to find fish? Never fished on Table Rock before.

Thank you,

As I have written many times, TR is a great fishing lake but very temperamental and difficult to learn. In August on the lower end, the best and smartest thing you can do will be to hire a good guide for the first day.

I totally agree with hiring a guide especially if you are there for a week. Hire the guide the first day and then you will have a more memorable time on TR.

I was going to say the same thing.......stroll on down to the Big Cedar dock and meet your guide to take you out for just a few hours. It will be well worth the time and money!

Otherwise, what could be a fantastic trip; has a high probability of leading to lots of frustration and wasted time on the water looking for fish.:-(

Swing over to the 86 bridge and drop shot the pilings, but that will wear thin after a bit. Fish Big Cedar Hollow, you can probably catch enough fish on a Ned to keep you interested. Go out early and look for busting fish, throw a topwater at them. If you are out past Jet Ski o'clock be careful of wakes.

Ditto on hiring a guide. My suggestion is Bill Babler or Bill Beck. Look them up at:
