Looking for helpful tips to fish during this hot weather. Any advice would be greatly appreciate. We are bringing a boat and are staying at the Branson Yacht Club. Also, how is the crappie fishing this time of the year? Thanks in advanced for the help/tips/information!
Quillback Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I don't know anything about that end of the lake, so I can't give you anything specific. It doesn't hurt to hire a guide for the first day to get you started. Bill Babler, Bill Beck and Pete Wenners are all good guides. Personally I wouldn't spend any time on crappie, unless you are just dead set on it, if so maybe you can find some around docks and brush piles. TR is a tough crappie lake, especially if you don't know the lake. I'd probably break out a drop shot and look for bass off the gravel points and over deep trees. Might be an early top water bite. And you should get out at the crack of dawn to get the best bite and avoid the water sports crowd. Pete Wenners does a weekly report and always has some tips on current conditions, here's the link. This ol' lake is tough enough to figure out at good times of the year, much less in the heat of summer. Look up whiteriveroutfitters.com or hookedonbass.com.
