Ketchup Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 With the talk about the H2O rods today, i made a trip to Freddies to eat, then across to Academy. Had the thought i would buy a few of the H2O flippin/worm rods, and ended up with a Shimano Sellus 7'2 worm/jig and a Lews 7'6 SpeedStick. Guess if these dont cut the mustard, off to Academy we go again. Both of these rods have a good feel. Their updates from what im using on some of my reels, so its money well spent. TinBoats BassClub. aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 i had a nice lews rod, it is at the bottom of a bluff in the diamond city area. I really liked it though. Marked the spot and went back the next week with my dive gear, but it was long gone
J-Doc Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Should have at least tried the H20. I've got a 7'-6" St Croix Avid that could feel a guppy fart. I used to fish it dropshotting but switched to the H20 because it's shorter and sensitive enough. Now the St Croix is my Ned rig rod. I know......not supposed to feel the bite on the Ned. But I can feel them pick it up so I can reel down and then swing back on them. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Ketchup Posted July 16, 2015 Author Posted July 16, 2015 I really planned to J. They had a nice rod, it was a lighter blue color for $60.00 that caught my eye. It was 7'2 MH. I have an extra reel sitting that needs a rod, so i may pick one up before my tourney on BS Sat. just to compare to the others i purchased. Andy, in all my years of fishing, iver never lost one over the side. Ive been in the boat a few times when buddies have lost one, and ive come close, but i would be very tempted to dive in after it if so. Of course that depends on water temps/depth. TinBoats BassClub. 5bites Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I have a 7' heavy that weighs 3oz that I made with a steez on it in grand lake. Well it's probably in Hudson now.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 That is my first one I have lost. It was on a steep bank. I searched for a while down to 65ft. Too cold down that deep to stay long.
cheesemaster Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I much prefer H20 over a Lews rod. For price, sensitivity and return policy. All around a better deal IMO. Never have tried the Sellus. J-Doc 1

I have good gear, but the higher priced stuff will just send me into orbit if I break, lose, or worse, have it stolen. I find medium of the road stuff. Stuff that works well and stuff I'm happy with. Which is why I tried H20 rods. Heck my reels don't get over $100 either and I wait for sales. Lol! Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. 5bites Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Well last season I tried the omens and have been stuck since. I'm anxious to try the new ones because the current models perform waaaaay above their price, other than the guides. I had an envy but honestly it's not worth the extra $100 for it. 13 is doing some things right. From now on any high end rods will likely be built by me which still isn't cheap. At least a person can accumulate parts over time though. Btw I was very very sick over it.
