trythisonemv Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I've been checking farm ponds for my father in law to See if they have fish in them still. The last one was full of sunfish and I caught a bullhead on a rooster tail. I also saw schools and schools of baby bull swimming around. I think they've taken over. I am planning to try this one another time to check the deeper center of pond. He said that at one point it had crappie and channel but there was a fish kill and poachers getting in at around the same time.
jdmidwest Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Bullheads are fun. There was a farmer when I was growing up that had a pond full of them. I yanked many out of it, some up to 2 lbs. Their meat has a different texture than channel cat, I really like it better. Bullheads are something I hardly ever catch, can't remember the last one. It may have been in my college years bank fishing the river. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
