5bites Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 If you are interested in Table Rock history at all I personally enjoyed the Tom Koob books a lot. Also the Barry county museum has some neat books on area history. That may not be what you're after though.
jtram Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 Absolutely, I love local history. Some good suggestions, gonna get a used book order through Amazon this week. Keep shooting suggestions and thanks all.
jtram Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 The Alaska Chronicles is a good read for anyone looking for light entertainment, probably the only book of its format to give Gierach a run for his money IMO.
tjulianc Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 One more book I thought about is Fresh-Water Bass by Ray Bergman. Has a whole chapter on Bass of the Ozarks, he does a float down the White River before the dams, and the Buffalo. Plus color prints by Fred Hilderbrandt. Probably out of print, but worth looking to find a copy.
joeD Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Alright fellas! Who says reading for pleasure is a dying pastime? You better get on it jtram. A bounty of options await for you to enjoy. It's satisfying to know others share the love of reading with you (us), regardless of author or genre.
JestersHK Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Funny I came across this. I just finished our weekly trip with the kiddos to the library. Usually the wife takes them, but I was along for the ride this time. My oldest 10yr old daughter suggested I find some good fishing books, and now I have an excellent list to load up on. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
