Am I in the right to be irritated at these people that are parking their truck and trailer where the old parking lot is? They are backing their rigs to the water and leaving them there. Luckily some had left by the time I got done or I would have been screwed. I unloaded and parked up the road. Am I wrong in thinking that way? Thoughts?

No your not wrong. I was there sat and just when I thought I could put in a guy backed his trailer in and parked. I pulled up to him and told him that everyone couldn't park here, so he move so I could unload. No one is to park on the old parking lot when the water is this high,

It's been crazy down there. We have been getting down there about 5am to get a placce to park. Then leaving before noon. We must have meet 20 boats headed that way Saturday about 11:30, couldn't figure out where they were all going to park? I guess that is the only place on the lake pleasure boaters think they can pu in? It is crazy busy down there any more.

The Cape Fair ramps have always had problems with parking space and especially when there is high water. What would help if the corps would turn the few camp sites just in front of the parking area at the first ramp into parking would help the parking situation in a big way. The marina took part of the parking area for their last dock patrons. When ever there is a fairly large tournament out of Cape Fair the parking is slim pickings.

As many of you know, the underwater Baxter ramp and access road require you to back thru the trees and adjacent rocks but the upper lot is still available for parking. Surely by now, the COE should be able to lower the Tri-Lakes at a faster rate than what we are seeing ?

There's really nowhere for the water to go right now. The White and Arkansas rivers in east and south Arkansas are still very close to flood stage and releasing the water from Bull Shoals would cause a lot more crop damage than those farmers have already endured. The lower Mississippi is also 20 feet above normal for this time of year. These flood-control lakes are doing just what they are designed for.

Exactly. And that is not to make it easier to use the lake for recreation.

I can't imagine what it's like at Cape Fair right now. The parking there is less than perfect when the lake is at normal levels.

It would be fine if people weren't being lazy and rude. I was by myself and still took the time to unload and park the truck down the road. Some of these guys were 2 and 3 to a boat and still leaving their trucks and trailers in the way. Simple common courtesy goes a long way.
