Usually spend a weekend for my birthday fishing Tanneycomo while my wife shops and relazes in Branson Unless I fish very early or very late, wading is kind of hit or miss there now. Is there any place in northern AR where you can wade relaibly I could try? Appreciate any suggestions......

Thank you!

Below Beaver Dam may be the best since they're not running a lot of water there. Roaring River is an hour drive. Crane Creek. Other tailwaters are running water.

Hope that helps.

Im guessing TR is backed up to Beaver Dam, that = still water fishing. This time of yr, with tailwaters running (basically) constantly, you will do MUCH better to go get after the little mouthed brown fish (smallmouth). Any creek in the area you want to fish. Good luck either way, have fun!

Roaring River isn't far if Taney is up Crane is another possibility.

I have to drive past Bennett Springs to get to Tanneycomo, Would Roaring River be much different? Never been there, may be fun just to go try it. I struggle with the lack of space at BSSP, except during C&R season guess I assumed RR woudl be the same....

I think you'll like RR. You should at least try it.

Roaring river is way better. I grew up down the road from Bennett and roaring is like a different world to.me. better fish quality less people and they have cleaning stations so no gutt piles everywhere. Good catch and release zone unlike Bennett. Park store is cheaper on flies

IMO Montauk is way more natural than the other 2 mentioned. It will take a little extra time to drive but I would recommend Montauk.

I took my wife by there on our way back from Bull Shoals this spring. Had the same problem you do, I wanted to wade but could not due to water levels. She suggested we go to Montauk since she has heard me talk about it so much in the past. I described it to her as Missouri's little "western" trout stream. She agrees and prefers that we travel the extra time now if we are going to a Missouri Trout park. We have to take an extra 2 days to make our stay worth while since we are pulling our 5th wheel. good luck on your excursion!!
