Mitch f Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I've always heard storing a battery on concrete is not good for the battery....is this true? Or an old wive's tale? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Chief Grey Bear Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Used to be true. Changes in technology have since chsnged that. jtram Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Not doubting, just curious, what was it previously that caused that?
WHARFRAT Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I think it's an old wives tale. The one thing that I don't understand is, with advanced technology, especially with batteries. Why can't they make a car/boat battery about the size of you cell phone? @lozcrappie
Flysmallie Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Capacity. Your cell phone takes almost nothing to run. Your trolling motor on the other hand needs some power for a long period of time.

Mitch f Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 Now I know the answer, I read it on the Internet "Never believe anything you read on the Internet" Abraham Lincoln Daryk Campbell Sr 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Why can't they make a car/boat battery about the size of you cell phone? They have come out with compact jump start batteries, they are lithium I believe. Weego's largest capacity measures in the neighborhood of 9" X 3" X 1.5". Supposedly enough capacity to start most gas engines and outboards. I do not own one or have seen one is use, just going by product claims. Do a search on "Weego".
