There are a lot of drum in the lake.

No WHITE Bass?

No sir. No Whites. I guarantee that I could have caught a bunch more fish but they were all small. I had a wind blown point that was absolutely loaded. Fish or bite on almost every cast. Just did not want to stay there all day and catch shorts. So I ran toward the dam end. Had a lot tougher time there though. Really windy and tons of traffic. If you didn't fish a point of some sort you wouldn't get a bite. Had fun learning the lake. I could see that lake being ridiculous come jerkbait time.

Thumbs, Thumbs, Thumbs ... a dropshot in less than 5 feet of water? Is an intervention needed? A month ago you couldn't spell dropshot and now you can't put it down. I'm starting to worry about you, my friend!

It's been said that dropshotting is like another activity toward which males are inclined ... we all do it in times of desperation but we don't talk about it.

I'm addicted Champ. Can't help it. That rig has produced more summer time bites than I have ever had. The fish just can't stand it. They have to bite it.  I've learned so much about it in the last month. Line size, weight size, different variations of hooks, weedless, exposed hook, worm colors I never thought to use. It's great. Next step is Power shot rig with bigger line and weights. Anxious to try it.

maybe you should have stayed put my man

did you try other baits or presentations on the point before you moved to the dam area?

assuming what you may or may not catch is not how it works

many, many ,many times I've had to weed through the little bites to get to the big bites on the same spot

that may or may not have worked for you, idk

pretty good day otherwise on an unfamiliar lake :)

I could have stayed put but the stories of big smallmouth kept telling me to go toward the dam and try. I tried several applications but the drop shot reigned supreme.
