WeekendWarrior Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 The lake is rockin and rolling today, was a constant roar heading by house going to the Shootout. Would not want to be in a bass boat out there today!
nomolites Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Precisely why I am not down. I am doing fall chores so they are completed and when the big boys leave I'll be ready to fish. Mike
Old plug Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 You can expect more of the same next weekend for 4 days.
fishinwrench Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Pretty calm up this way, considering. Caught 4 nice keepers in less than 3 hours pitching a jig, 4-8' off the outside ends of docks. All but one bit on the fall. Threw a Redeye shad around for awhile but no love on it. MOsmallies 1
Members Manny Posted August 29, 2015 Members Posted August 29, 2015 Got out this morning before light. Trolling Bandits.... Not much takers, 3 small bass a few nice crappie and a couple whites. In the Grand Glaize area. Traffic wasn't bad at all... All the boats were headed to shoot out.
Old plug Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I am fit to be tied waiting for my boat to get done. But there is no way I am going to pester those guys at Outback. They are just amazing with the things they weld and fabricate. Look them up on the Internet and you will see what I mean. They are hoping to have mine done in a couple weeks. Bar a lot of insurance covered damage over these next two weekends that take priority.
WeekendWarrior Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 took wave runner up to Shootout to check it out around 3 this afternoon, won't do that again. 3 to 4 foot rollers all the way back to 28 mm from Shootout. The wife was with me and she was scared to death. Wish I could have stopped and got picts of rollers on lake but I knew if I came off plane we were going to get soaked so took it slow and got a workout. Pict of stream of boats heading out in no wake zone for the hour I was up there and boats at the turn at 28 mm
Old plug Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I do not live far from Coco Beach I see that stuff every weekend.
fishinwrench Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 To say that it was "rough" leaving the Shootout is the understatement of the century. It was scary as hell ! As far as I know everyone made it home safe though . We have some crazys but we also have some of the best boat operators in the world here. You can't deny THAT. Good thing too, cuz the Water Patrol and Coast Guard guys couldn't handle it. They hid in a cove until it was over Luckily for them they didn't have to do any protecting and serving. conorsixtakc 1
Old plug Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 SOME wrench SOME. you know about that half butt in the cigarette boat that was diddling around up at the 7 mile marker near CoCo's ??? Rammed made a tight turn evidently to fast thru himself off the controls and intoxicated passenger and the boat went on to destroy a dock. I read he was injured seriously.
