Old plug Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 They can sense everything in their environment that relates to sound to us. I imagine someone will in time record all the different vibrations various things make. Then you would have a hoard of lures coming on the market imitating those vibrations. While being Heralded as miracles by the TV guys. Way back in yesteryear I knew many top notch anglers that would not buy certain reels because they made to much noise( early Garcia was one of them) reeling. They believed, and I do also that what goes on on the rod is telegraphed right down the line. I will go so far as to say when you move your line while working your lure they know it is there because that line will causes movement. In the water. I would say fish a jigs the way you have confidence in them and forget all this other crap. Next to confidence everything else pales. Champ188 1
Champ188 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Wise words, Old Plug. I'd say most of us agree that using lighter line with finesse presentations results in more bites. Perhaps it isn't as much of a line visitbility issue as one of bigger line creating more vibrations as it moves through the water.
Billfo Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Rattles on jigs ? I USE to swear by them. but that was when I finally had mastered fishing dirty Nebraska lakes. Weeds grass & dirty water ! BUT now on Table Rock, my jig days are gone. I have to relearn all over again. My Nebraska tricks do not work here. I really should hang with some local jig fisherman & see how its down on Table Rock. Maybe this fall... (I use to also use Rattles and big trailers & scents) Email me Red-Right-Returning is for quitters !
