MOPanfisher, Dave recommended the 6'6" medium light St. Croix Eyecon rod to me for fishing the Ned rig and I love it.  Great rod and feels great.  Highly recommend that one.

Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

Quick look, but I will have to feel it, the split handle thing is a little much for me without laying hands on it first.  Will give it a twitch or ten next time I make it to spfld.

It's a delight for basic Ned Rigging. Closest to a perfect factory rod I have encountered. The SC Avid 6'9" drop shot rod is also fun, but a little more $. My homebrew sticks are cheap blanks that fish well, 7'6" rods.
