Ben Gillispie Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Just thought I'd let everyone know that the corps has reduced generation to the point that taneycomo is currently at 702ft and change.... Which is the lowest I've seen it all year. Boaters beware, waders rejoice. I always the tail water elevation and generation the same place Phil links to: http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/data/tabular/htm/tabrock.htm

ruthead Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Any ideas as to why?? "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
JestersHK Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 So this past weekend when we were fishing I saw about 5 dead browns Saturday down by outlet 7 in the marshy grass there. Also the fish we were catching even keeping them in the water during release were really struggling. I heard some folks talking about low O2 levels and it definitely made sense. We took allot of extra time reviving our fish and then would watch them to make sure they were ok, but even then they would swim out a few feet and sit on the bottom really gassed out... After the first couple we stopped taking them out of the water altogether even for just a second to take pics. Could definitely tell with their behavior that something was up and there were not as many active fish around as other times I've been down there.
Ben Gillispie Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 Ruthead, not sure why they've completely shut it off and that does lend concern to what JestersHK has said about the O2 levels likely dropping because of it. Table Rock is down to less than 913.5 so they can't keep pulling it down too much I'd imagine. I caught several last night that seemed to be active and chipper and not at all happy that I hooked them, put up some good fights. I always ease them back into the water and let them come to before fully releasing them. I guess they did take some time to revive, but I wasn't really thinking about that at the time. On another note. there are sculpin thick. Everywhere. Nice sized ones too...some a good 4-5 inches and fat. I have a pictures somewhere on my phone of them but am on my computer at the moment.
