Members MSeery Posted October 30, 2015 Members Posted October 30, 2015 Great Day!!!! Was worried with the moon phase coupled with the cold front passing through that the fishing was going to be extremely slow. What do I know. It was the best day yet. As long as we were fishing along rocky banks, fish were hitting with the wind blowing. When the wind stopped so did the bite. Fish were in 2-4 FOW. Water temp started at 58 then up to 61 at noon. Most fish were caught between 10a and noon. Spent the day in Turkey creek area. Bait used: 1/4 oz chartreuse vibrax with brass spinner. Caught several shorts..... zero crappie though. Heading up to LOZ tomorrow with Son-In-Law.....any pointers?

I just started to get into them over the last couple of years and don't know much about them but I do love them....I have been catching some nice ones recently but, I'm starting to think they are better than I was first thinking??
Dutch Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 A legal white bass is any size you want to keep for eating. However, you are only allowed to have 4 over 20" because the MDC doesn't think the average fisherman can tell a white from a striper from a hybrid. That is a nice white in the pic, especially if it came from a lake north of Springfield.

Dutch Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 So is this a new reg about the 18" limit? I've not read the book for a few years. When was it changed?
Smalliebigs Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I don't keep them so I'm not too worried about it.....just didn't know if there was a minimum. I caught 31 out of one spot yesterday day all 16 to 19 inches and all on topwater ....fun stuff River rat it's good to see you post....I need to hit the Gasconade. I went to the giant flat out on the river again today and had the same results and a few other species
96 CHAMP Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Been using vibric spinner in white Mylar down here at LOZ. Fishing windy points and banks catching them right up near the bank , Good luck
