MM suspended the rest of the year

I heard, not fact by any means, that he was drunk and standing on a bar in a Columbia pub, trying to pick a fight Wednesday night.  I am sure a lot of rumors will be flying around, but he obviously screwed up big time.

Yeah, kinda more of the same from him and really sad in a way. He has some issues that are more than a college kid who likes to party. Kinda surprised they didn't boot him entirerly, and i can't help but wonder if theses issues affected his play last year. Hope he gets help cause i am not sure anyone will touch him otherwise(assuming he transfers).

The cocaine thing was a rather vicious rumor going around, but did not have much credibility.   Apparently he was drunk and picking a fight SOMEWHERE, but I've heard different versions of that as well...

I don't blame Pinkel for not airing whatever he did to get suspended, but it's a shame that in absence of the truth getting out, a lot of rumors are going around.

I agree with Pinkel. Team business that he has a policy of keeping mum. There is no "right to know," No ones business. Mauk is done and let's move on. Happens ALL the time in campuses all over. Though a football player, he is still just a 20 year old college student. Leave the post mortem and pathology alone.

Imagine if this had been the starting QB at Bama or OSU, it would've been all over the national media for days.  But, I wouldn't have heard about this if it wasn't here on OA.

I saw it on ESPN a day or two ago. If he had been the starter at Bama or OSU he would be suspended one game.

The kid is going through some tough times with his dad so I will give him a pass. Some things are more important than football.
