Al Agnew Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I've always found fishing between Pacific and Route 66 to be interesting. Before the spotted bass practically took it over, I caught a big smallmouth about every time I tried it down there--which was only a handful of times. The last couple of times I've caught spotted bass and the occasional smallmouth or largemouth. Back in the old days, I once caught a 5 pound largemouth and a 4 pound smallmouth on consecutive casts. Lots of usually unproductive water in that part of the river, with here and there a sweet spot. Hog Wally 1
moguy1973 Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 It is a very featureless section of river. No laydowns or any sort of cover, and it's rather shallow with no pools along the way., at least in the 3/4 of a mile I walked down the bank. I am definitely going to chalk this fish up as luck of being in the right place at the right time using the right bait. Hog Wally Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 The big difference below pacific is shad. There are a ton of shad. Period. It makes it into a entirely different fishery than say up by my house around stclair. Smalliebigs and Brian Jones 2

You all keep talking and your going to Internet some of these OTHER FOLKS. You would not like the results. I'd invite anyone to head down there and spend a day fishing. I promise it's not going to be what they'd expect or want. When I say most folks I mean 99.99 percent of folks. Brian Jones 1
