how do u all think the rain affects the deer movement ? do u think they bed down all day? or do they just not care and then carry on like its not even happening ?

If the noise from the rain or wind prevents them from being able to hear something creeping up behind them then they will lay low, otherwise they will move about like they normally do.

Mother nature has given them the gift of being able to handle all but the worst of elements. I have shot deer in a down poor. So my answer is no, especially during the rut and the rut is now. Actually Wrench has added that during wind they will hold up but I have seen in my neck of the woods deer being very spooky and move all over because of the wind.

I'd like hunt in an overcast drizzle but then the highlight of the weekend is often the bon fire and BBQ Saturday evening, clear and dry would work.

I love to still hunt in a light to moderate rain.  Deer will move and the rain and damp conditions.mask my noise.  My wife hunts only from her box blind, she says let it rain.
