I know this because I ask them every year and they tell me. So there's no marketing spin just the simple use of data and feedback from our customer base to determine what they think is best for the Tour. Last time I checked, and I do every year, I haven't seen you on the registration list so not sure how your opinion counts here... Appreciate the feedback. Mark Mark, I've got no dog in the fight but as a marketing guy as you report to be I think you just angered a large group of anglers because you told Champ that since he doesn't fish your tournaments, his opinion doesn't count. WOW!! I am not here to defend Champ as he can do that for himself. Rather as I see it, he merely stated a fact which you verified. At first he said that this year's grand prize is a lesser valued boat. You confirmed that in your reply. Then he asked a question wondering why a typical participant would care about the grand prize. It would have been very simple to provide an answer instead of telling him that his opinion doesn't matter. JMHO Mike
Flysmallie Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Wow the Big Bass Bash has come early this year. I'm beginning to hate society.

JMHO Mike Mike, thanks for the feedback but Champ and I have a "special" deal so disregard anything you may see here between the two of us. We are working through the process of getting him registered for one of our events so we can have some fun and hopefully put some money in his pocket on Table Rock. All is well. Champ188 1
Champ188 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I'm not offended. If anything, I'm guilty of waking the proverbial sleeping dog, poking the bear or whichever beastly reference one prefers. I'm still a pain in the posterior, but at least I'll own up to it these days. Onward. Flysmallie and Big Bass Tour 2
Fishin Hodge Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I have fished at least one day of every event this group has had on Table Rock to the best of my recollection. I can tell you, that these guys put on one heck of a tournament. Everyone has to have a sustainable business model, and I get that completely. I wish the payouts were bigger in every event I fish; but they aren't and to make money fishing isn't a realistic goal for 99% of us. This is however one of an extremely few tournaments around that for under $200 I can fish for a small, but still existent shot at a $30K bass boat. Champ188 and Big Bass Tour 2
Quillback Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I wonder why it's a bass boat that is given for winning instead of cash? I'd rather get $30K in cash than a $30K boat. I'm guessing tourney sponsors get a great deal on the boat.

Well said, Hodge, and good to know considering your long experience with tournament fishing. Big Bass Tour 1

Well that's simple. 30K in cash costs 30K, a bass boat that your company made does not. Companies will always be more interested in giving product than cash.
Longball22 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Payouts aside, if you register in the first 200 people, it is hard to beat paying $160 and getting a $100 Shimano rod out of the deal.....just saying. Big Bass Tour 1

There's obviously a monetary impact for our business but the primary reason is to promote the Nitro boat brand and showcase our sponsors products.
