Members Gillbert Posted November 24, 2015 Members Posted November 24, 2015 Best tasting fish out there. Do your very best to get all the red meat out. Does not tastes very fishy at all. If you get some red meat you will know it. Grilled or Fried it's excellent. Big flaky white meat.

I may finally get out Thursday afternoon I'm finding them on the south end of the lake. Think black burn, HSB, point 11 and 12. I wouldn't be surprised if stripers r found in the rivers by now also. I've caught them south of 412 bridge on thanksgiving day in past years.

Just trying to get a laugh there champ, I don't keep fish either. Though I have caught whites and stripers for those who do.
Flysmallie Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Champ doesn't laugh when it comes to knifing a bass. You are going to give him an aneurysm.

Didn't mean to come across as grumpy guys. There was a smile on my face when I typed my reply. I know you guys aren't knifers and were joking about the smallies. Flysmallie 1
mjk86 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 For the record small black bass taste about like crappie or walleye. Maybe a little stronger but not really noticeable. Stripers and white bass taste alright too but as was mentioned you have to get the red meat out...not as good as black bass or walleye imo. The best eating fish though is a 9-11 inch crappie caught in water below 50 degrees....just heavenly.
