Here anything, or is it safe to assume there is a striper bite with all the running water and bait being pushed over the dam and that's why no one is responding?

I'm sure there are catchable fish all over the lake, but access is limited and information is tough to come by. I can guess at three launches that are most likely usuable, but they are all on the lower lake.

I haven't heard anything, this forum is always a bit quiet. But last I seen the water is back into Shadow Rock park...

I haven't been down there in over a month.

there is always someplace to launch.  Just don't do what I did at Mark Twain many years ago.  Launch off the road leading to the ramp and put the boat on a guard rail along the road.  Guard rails and fiberglass do not like each other.

I'm really paranoid about that kind of thing Jerry. Thanks for giving me nightmares.

I did it for many years.  Only happened one time.  May the force be with you.  You said yourself that hardly anyone is fishing.  Starting next weekend, if the weather guessers are correct, Spring Fever will set in big time.

Water level is just under the basketball back boards in Shadowrock Park if that gives you an idea of the level.  We put in off the Forsyth-taneyville road yesterday with no issues but like was mentioned be mindful of the guardrail.   You can also put in off of Y-hwy at the old Boat Dock Field access.  Haven't seen many if any boats fishing the dam area but there have been quite a few bank fishermen below the dam the last few times I drove by there.

I took a chance and dragged the boat down. Shadow Rick is indeed under water. If I wanted to push it,I could've found a spot to launch, but didn't get down there until sunset, so played it safe. Fished below the dam off the bank for about 2 hours. Caught three nice whites, a 3 lb brown trout and had something break the hook off my jig head. Was using a 1/16th oz head so not a huge hook shank to break off, but it had size to it. Saw it head shake at surface 10 yards in front of me, but it was after dark and couldn't make out what it was. Who knows, could've been a big drum? It didn't run like a striper. Tied on another jig, snagged some old line, subsequently broke my light weight pole and called it a night. It was still nice to get in a little fishing time either way.
