I guess that's ok unless it's "my" princess. I hate it when my QB gets drilled late. For most teams, when the QB goes down, their season goes down.

Jim McMahon was never the same after a cheap shot by a Packer. Bears could have had a 3-4 year run. Oh well. Scary to watch old games with the defense using their arms like battering rams. Of course they only weighed 180, not 250.  I enjoyed the Super Bowl. Outcome was in doubt till late. That's all you can ask for. Now its time to go fishing'!

Kidney failure killed Charles Martin at age 45. That was one of the worst cheap shots ever.

The stupid keep a drive alive penalty when the D lineman hand barely brushes the QB helmet bother me. That's not football.

I do think they need to eliminate the D line guy picking up the QB and driving him into the ground with combined weight. Start ejecting guys for hits like that. Immediate ejection and the next four full quarters of play after that.

I agree withy most of this. But I will say that I don't think most players aren't trying to hurt anyone. A good solid, essentially meaningless hit on a QB can get in their head. Again not trying to end anyone's career or seriously hurt them. You don't have to destroy them to make the point. I've seen them totally fall apart when you put some pressure on them. I personally caused one to have an extremely bad game one night and never even touched the guy. However I did get flagged for tackling his coach and some other innocent bystanders. Yeah I gave them 10 or 15 yards but that boy was running scared the rest of the night and NOBODY ever touched him. But we were able to contain him with just me and another with everybody else being available for coverage. Yes this was just high school football, but it was at a high level and we were allowed to have a lot of fun and experiment with what we were doing on the field. And we found out that a well placed penalty here or there could really change the situation.
