Fish24/7 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 659.22 WT 46.6-47.1 11:30am -6pm Another pretty good day on Bull Shoals! Drove around until I saw gulls. When I found them I picked the closest point and started fishing. It started off really slow. The gulls were not very active either. It was about an hour before my first bite came on a painted x-rap . It was an awesome day weather wise! The Loons were calling, turkey were gobbling, even saw a bald eagle. The next bite was about an hour after the first. It was a lmb measuring 17 1/4" , she bit the custom x-rap. Then it got a lot tougher. Went the next 2 hours without a bite , but I kept fishing that point back and forth over and over again the whole day, never left. I could see these bass on the screen, so why leave. My boat is small and stealthy. Most of the time I can get close to the fish without spooking them. Even when they are just a few feet under the boat. Confidence and patience prevailed. Finally around 3:45 the bite really started to pick up. The gulls became active and they were diving on shad all around me. The bass started chasing shad to the surface ,were boiling all over this point, and they started eating the x-rap. I caught 5 more keeper largemouth but they were small keepers. When the x-rap bite got slow I put that rod down and picked up one that had a homemade underspin tied on it and they just hammered it! A bunch of short largemouth and 5 small keeper kentuckies. Also caught 4 walleye, 2 were keepers. Had around 25 fish on the underspin. Threw them all back Quillback, Rob P and Dewayne French 3
Members HardHead Posted February 27, 2016 Members Posted February 27, 2016 Sounds like a very nice day, thanks for the report. Mostly main lake points still I'm guessing? I'll be down the weekend of the 19th - can't get here soon enough. mixermarkb 1

Rob P Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Nice job. You were in 13 fow, casting at shore? graph shows the water is at 47 degrees, we'll see 60s by end of March. Lets hope the high water stays away.. ...how do we get to see your home made underspin??
