Bushbeater Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Watching the whitecaps roll down the channel and trying to get my nerve up to go out. We had awesome bass fishing both Friday and Saturday with a few nice Whites and Hybrids as bonus fish. The best areas seemed to be windblown shallow points although shallow gravel flats produced also. Most LMB came on shad type cranks and Whites on Swimmin Minnows. Yesterday may have been the best I have ever done on LOZ. Flatbottom Boy 1
Flatbottom Boy Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Awesome! Ive been waiting for some reports to come out, just trying to live vicariously through those lucky enough to get out. Did you throw any jigs at all? I think that crazy wind is supposed to die off this evening some.
Bushbeater Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 Had no luck with traditional bass jigs but did get bit on texas rigged chompers. I hate to keep crying about the wind but it's been difficult to feel a slowly fished bait.
Members NickIL Posted February 28, 2016 Members Posted February 28, 2016 What part of the lake were you fishing?
WeekendWarrior Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Well, to windy to fish? Went out around 11 this morning and turned around in the big water right before Linn creek with 3 foot rollers and fished the dirty water by house at 28 mm to no avail for couple hours. Winds slowed a bit and off we took to the Nianguas and ended up with 3 keepers with one real good one and 4 shorts. Big one and another good one on a-rig and buddy had one on crankbait. fishinwrench Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Not bad at all. Those 2 you are holding are rather plump. Good job.
m&m Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Nice report and great pictures. Those fat ones must have felt like a train bringing them in. Mike

WeekendWarrior Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Guessing 5.5 to 6 lb, probably had 11-12 lbs with 3 fish. Fish are biting good right now I think seeing tournament weights with Sykora/Davenport having a whopping 22.97 lbs
MOsmallies Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Well done guys! WeekendWarrior that one looks every bit of 6+. What a tank!
