The title just means that this will probably be the last trip to Capps for me this season.  Will more than likely start to fish for bass now and leave the slim rockets alone for awhile.  I normally start fishing the creeks. lakes, and ponds for other species right about this time of the year.  Today on Capps definitely was a challenge.   Decided to get up around 8 since the time change meant that we were an hour ahead so it seemed like 7 when I got up.  Anyways, got to the creek around 9 and parked in the lower lot.  When we got out there was a tan Explorer in the lot with a flat tire.  We went ahead and got ready to fish and on the way to our hole we started to see where someone had gone what I call "yard farming" with a truck.  So happens that tan Explorer had all kinds of mud on it and was the one that had done all the damage.  They had been joy riding thru the conservation land and just tearing it up.  I went ahead and took some pics at that point we could share with the conservation department and everyone else just in case you meet this fine upstanding POS.  I say that  because we got the pleasure of meeting him and his tweaked out girlfriend.  They were hiding in the woods and came out to meet us when we started to walk to out fishing hole.  Might have helped out had the young punk admitted to the damage he did, but instead he got belligerent with us when we called him out on it.  At this point I had wished I was packing heat because this punk was willing to fight both me and my friend over the whole deal.  Finally his girlfriend talked some sense into him and they walked away.   I thought we were going to have to throw down right there.  He was tweaking hardcore you could tell.  Left the phone in the truck at this point so we walked down further and hid in the trees and watched him for awhile.  I really thought at this point he was going to smash my truck window and break in.   I hate dealing with people like that.  After sometime we went on fishing and did pretty well.  My neighbor was on fire from the get go.  He landed 3 nice trout before I knew it out of the first two holes we fished.  I was feeling pretty bummed  until I struck next with three out of one hole.  Caught a good mix of browns and bows this time around.  We fished hard for about 3-4 hours and came away with a dozen between us.  He caught 7 and I caught 5.  Not bad considering that creek has been hit hard from the locals in the last couple of weeks.    I caught all of mine on an olive jig I tie and my neighbor was catching his on a red colored jig he tied.  When we got back to the lot I figured that we would have another confrontation with our tweaker friend.  Instead he was gone and only got as far as the pull off by the Shoal creek bridge.  Here are some pics from the day.  Also encountered a snake I haven't seen in a long time around here.  A Timber rattler.  We almost step on it on the way back out on the path.  Scared the crap out of both of us since he was so close to us without seeing him.

Yikes Ollie.  That's sounds like an interesting day at Capps. Rattle snakes I can deal with but not tweakers! Noce pics

Yeah, the GoPro just can't zoom or I would have gotten closer I swear!  It was an interesting day to say the least.
