eyedabassman Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I had moved down to the Table Rock area 2 years ago,so I am looking for a cheap repair shop but that does good work? My water pump is going on my Merc. 150 EFI Is this a big job to change it out myself?
m&m Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Eye, I took the advice of Bill Babler and took my boat to Ulich Marine in Branson West. They replaced my water pump among other things and I have to say the boat is running great. And my motor is a 1989. Mike Jim Elam 1

m&m Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Well, I had a bunch of stuff done. Water pump, bilge pump replacement, livewell pump replaced, motor tune up, gas gauge fixed, voltage regulator and they installed a digital depth and temp gauge in the dash. I got the quote for all the parts and labor and felt that it was within reason. I have to admit that I was more concerned with their ability to do the work, and since they are certified according to the Evinrude/Johnson website, the pricing was secondary. Mike

Mike Within reason, pricing should be secondary to quality. huntest 1
Pepe Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I wholeheartedly endorse Ulrich. Great work and they get it done quickly. My boat is in Shell Knob so I have used a local dealer for routine maintenance & repairs. Nothing major but every Spring they "tune it up", change impeller, LU grease etc.. Performance was steadily lagging though. Before taking the boat on a road trip I had Ulrich Check it out this time. The motor runs like new and gets much better gas mileage. I like that they put date stickers in place to track when things were done. mixermarkb and dtrs5kprs 2
dtrs5kprs Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I've been to Ulrich for a few things, battery, odd small parts for quick repair. They have always been helpful and know what they have, and why they are selling it.
Champ188 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Powerheads are upwards of $6,000 these days. That's the price that should concern you. A water pump isn't going to break the bank but it can sure break your motor bigtime if it isn't working right. That's my 2 cents. Codywskeeter1521, flatland dave and mixermarkb 3
MOBass Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Folks I know closer to Table Rock use Ulrich. I have my boat at Top Gun in Nixa at the moment as they were closer to me and came highly recommended from several people that I know and trust.
