Daily limit and possession limit clarification needed

Daily limit is 4 that means 4 for that day you can have 8 in possession over multiple days but only 4 caught in the same day.

You can only have 4 while on the water or shoreline of water body where the limits apply.  I have never heard of an Agent raiding anyone's house to check their freezer for more than a posession limit.  When a ticket has been written it is usually to someone camping who brings a small freezer and plans to fill it.  Laugh but I have seen it done.

And it applies to fish in your possession at home. If you have more than 8 in your freezer, you are not supposed to keep any others until you eat them. That's where most people are bending the rules, but if you should get your freezer checked and you have more than 8 walleye in there- it could amount to a fine.

You are correct on this, it's kind of a silly rule, but what you said is a fact. I don't think there are to many of us that could keep crappie in our freezer, without eating them all. or walleye. Lol

Ok got it...eat faster. I guess possession limit is in place to inhibit the resale of fish?? So all of us that keep fish for the family fish fry are braking the law? That is stupid, let's vote it out.

You don't vote on wildlife code.  I don't have a problem with the rule.  Do I violate it, well shucks no officer.

You can have as many as you want in your freezer that has nothing to do with the daily possession limit

Four in the boat for in a cooler in your truck you go home you come back next week it doesn't matter if you ate the ones in your freezer at your house or not

I believe any enforcement agent will count any fish they find in your freezer or elsewhere as part of your possession limit.  I wonder if anyone has ever completely followed the label regulations?

I do with all required. A sharpee on vacuum sealed bags. Got my and Mrs. BilletHead's conservation numbers memorized. It is easy once you get used to it.

I will be the first to admit that I don't do all that is required by law as to permit number etc. on bags in freezer, I am doing well to get a date and what is inside it.  I am not worried about anyone coming to check my freezer if they do well I am busted l, not on numbers but on labeling.
