Members Leitsout Posted April 4, 2016 Members Posted April 4, 2016 I'm headed down Wed. morn., staying thru Sunday. Was curious if anyone has been catching them in the dam are. Was there week before last and I did pretty poorly, reports lake wide showed mixed results.
m&m Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I've had some success around Indian Point and way up in Long Creek. What tourney are you fishing this weekend? Mike
abkeenan Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 After fishing the dam area this past weekend......it is a wasteland as of right now. All my bites came closer towards KC.
abkeenan Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Also, most of the guys I bumped into on the water had the same results as I did in the dam area....not good.

Bill Babler Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Just to much boat traffic this past weekend at the dam, Indian Point to Cricket Creek. These fish will start to come to their senses as soon as they take of their Kevlar vests and Helmets. Should be later this week. Good Luck crazy4fishin, Ben Gillispie, abkeenan and 5 others 8 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Good Luck Bet they saw more Huddleston's and such than TW will sell this week.
Flippin Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 On Saturday I fished from Indian Point to Little Cow creek and catching was non-existent. I don't remember it being this hard last year. abkeenan 1
abkeenan Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 On Saturday I fished from Indian Point to Little Cow creek and catching was non-existent. I don't remember it being this hard last year. It was just BRUTAL on Sunday. I don't even know what it was....post frontal from Saturday...yet in the middle of another front blowing in....so it was a post-current-pre frontal conditions????.....apparently those are a real humdinger and shut the fishing down pretty quick. Last year was later (mid May) which is typically better in terms of #'s but not necessarily size. I had no problems catching fish last year, just not the right ones. Typically I catch the most fish in the dam area from mid April to the beginning of June. Water temps I saw were 53-57 in the dam area. Most of the water was around 54-55 but Jakes Branch was the warmest of the bunch at 56.7 to 57.1 on my temp gage on Sunday. Maybe a reason why there were 37 boats in there on Sunday afternoon. I did see some surface shad activity in the back of Beardsley and thought I might get a early morning biggun' on a jerkbait but that didn't happen. Topwater should be in full swing in 2-3 weeks one would think. Maybe earlier up the river arms. Well as long as we don't have back to back nights of 30 degrees like tournament weekend! Donna G 1
m&m Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 abk, I agree about the topwater bite but this week there are some nice night time temps so I'm gonna tie on a couple Saturday and keep my fingers crossed. Mike
