Got out for a few hours both Saturday and Sunday night.  Fished two different areas.  Fished from dark and had the boat back on the trailer before midnight.  Saturday produced 4 keepers and that is all they were, just fat keeps.  Also had a 30 lb. flathead.  There is a great 5 fish limit weight in one fish:lol:.  Sunday night produced 8 keepers that were all really nice ones.  Best five was an easy 16.

Water temps still around 54 to 55, and most of the bites are still out  10 to 15 feet deep.  Still catching them on a 1/4 hair and a 3/8 skirted jig.  The steeper bluff wall are still working the best, at least for me.  A few of the bites are that nice tick, but more of them are just something different happened.

30lb flathead on bass gear....at night...sounds fun. Although, I might be afraid to pull that up from the depths to see just what the heck I had in the dark.

bo, gotta love that hair jig bite. a 30 lb fish in the dark must have been a heart thumping fun ride. Thanks for the information.

I have caught some nice flatheads before, but not on a bass outfit and not in the dark.  Had to be a fun time!!!!

Flatheads are always a nice bonus fishing for bass at night. I've caught a bunch of them in the teens and low 20's, mainly on jigs, but a buddy of mine caught a 30 something on a spinnerbait several years ago. There's never any doubt when one of them hits a jig.
