Members cdh4088 Posted April 5, 2016 Members Posted April 5, 2016 I have been taking my sons fishing at fellows and springfield lake, and we have been getting skunked every trip for about a year now, and I would like to see them actually catch something for a change. Are there any ponds in the springfield area for some kid - friendly bluegill action? I live out in strafford, but pretty much all of the farm ponds around here are marked for no trespassing. thanks in advance
Smalls21 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 have you tried the pond off valley water mill? it is public fishing, just limited on places to cast from bassfisher 1
Deadstream Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I've found that very few people will say no to kids fishing. Just knock on a few doors. When you do get permission make sure you close all gates, etc. and have the boys or girls say thanks to the landowner. A lot of places are posted for liability reasons. Just ask. mjk86 and Johnsfolly 2
bassfisher Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I was told Ritter Springs Park is opened for fishing now,by fantastic caverns
Members cdh4088 Posted April 7, 2016 Author Members Posted April 7, 2016 Ritter springs is fishable? I thought all of the springfield parks were off limits. The pond at sequiota park has tons of little bass and bluegill in it, but theres no fishing signs everywhere.
Flysmallie Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I first noticed this back in January. Just a sign on a tree. Sequiota used to have some nice bass and huge gills.
