I had a small patch close to the house that used to produce a couple dozen each spring, but has not produced anything in a couple of years. I checked it out this afternoon and found one lone shroom about 3 inches tall. Heading out to our land on the Meramec tomorrow, hoping to find some. Found a decent bunch there last spring, but they were the white ones that usually come out a little later...did not get out there to look for the gray ones earlier.

Hit one of my regular spots today and found 57 from about an inch to 3 inches tall. Did my usual 3 mile hike and found the majority in two places. Having some tonight with some baked chicken the Mrs. is fixing now. Might have to take a nap after the dishes are done
