Started about 7:30 Saturday morning around Red Fox.  Fished a couple of smaller coves/pockets with wind.  Caught a short and one that went around 3-8 behind a cable.  Slowed down a lot after that.  One skinny 17" keeper the rest of the morning. All 3 of  those were on spinnerbaits.  Caught one that went 3-5 that afternoon on a shakey head.  Went back out after supper and caught one more that went 3-13 on the spinnerbait.  Only had 7 fish all day.  4 keepers went about 12-12.

Went back out Sunday morning (went the other direction into Proctor) for about 3 1/2 hours.  Caught two more shorts.

Almost every bite we had came in the wind with some kind of wood/trash close.  Slow rolled the spinnerbait a bunch.  Flipped some plastics a little.  Threw a buzzbait and spook a little. Threw a carolina rig a little too.

We fished about every pocket we came across.  Hit every piece of wood on the bank we saw too.  Fished behind a lot of docks.  Didn't spend a lot of time on the main lake or on channel banks.  Couldn't ever put anything consistent together.  Didn't see any fish up shallow - cruising or on beds (only saw a few beds).  Most of our bites were right on the bank though.  Had a few bigger shad follow the spinnerbait back to the boat but didn't see many baitfish, birds, or any fish in the shallows.

Water was cleaner than expected - probably had 2 1/2 feet of visibility in spots.  Lower water doesn't leave much water in a lot of the pockets in this part of the lake.

Jbrant, thank you for the report.  Any idea what the WT was in Proctor?

Thanks. I'm just trying to see the WT trend prior to my May 11th trip there.
