Link doesn't work.

I think it would be bad IMO.  BPS is getting too big of a head if you ask me.

Cabela's just announced plans for a new store in Lee's Summit,Mo.    That will make 2 Bass Pros and 2 Cabela's in the Kansas City area.  Who is buying all this stuff?

Cabela's was king of the mail order business.  Bought out Gander Mountain's mailorder many moons ago.  Gander Mountain came back with store fronts, something they did not have in the past.  Cabela's has lingered in the store fronts.  Bass Pro has built up in store fronts.  I think a purchase of Cabela's will strengthen the Bass Pro name and company as a whole.  Go Bass Pro.

Consolidation is usually isn't great for the consumer.  But I can see where it might make sense from BPS perspective-  I moved here from Colorado and I can tell you that Cabela's is to the Rocky Mountains as Bass Pro is to the Ozarks.

My biggest grip with Cabela's are the prices, if you ever catch me in a $50 T-shirt please have me locked away. Bass Pro has shifted to clothing over fishing but not as bad.
