Skeeter ZX190 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Took a 12 year old boy out for a day on the lake. It was his first time to fish from a boat. Got on the water around 11:00 am and got off about 6:00 pm. Water temps were 67 to 68 degrees. Stayed between Orleans Trail and State Park Marina. Caught a total of 58 fish. The 12 year old caught 14 of them. We only threw the ned rig. I caught 4 keeper bass but the biggest was only 16 1/2. We caught a little bit of everything. Largemouth, smallmouth, kentucky, walleye, drum, carp, and catfish. 2 of the walleye were keepers (17 inch). All in all, just a fun day on the water. Took a break and went to State Park Marina for a burger and coke. They really make a good one. Saw a bald eagle on a nest back in a cove where the Little Sac parts with Big Sac over by Price Branch. Saw it return to the nest with a fish in its talons. dan hufferd, Johnsfolly, tho1mas and 5 others 8
Hammer time Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Good stuff! The boys smile says it all! Seeing the eagles is icing on the cake! Thanks for the report and the pics.
dprice Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I'm sure you know it but that is one of the kindest thing you can do for the children in the family .... take them fishing ... Keep it real simple and just get them a fish of some sort on there hook This is a true miracle that takes place Dprice priceheatingair.com
Johnsfolly Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Skeeter - Great post! Awesome to see his smile while holding a fish. They grow up way too fast and get pulled in many different directions. I hope that you have a fishing buddy for life right there.
