I was using a medium when I started but quickly switched to my medium heavy.

About a 2 weeks ago the  brother and I decided to go out on the river and try a little largemouth fishing. We'll we struck out on the largemouth but did manage to get into a couple hybrids .( I think

I don't really think you're giving away the store when you talk about stripers/hybrids in a tailrace. Pretty common knowledge.
