Yesterday I bought some Berkley Gulp Alive Leeches at Cabela's.  Right now it is $10 off per pint of Alive products so I figured I'd give them a shot some time.  Was really wondering if anyone has used this product as well as wondering if anyone uses the attractants like the Berkley spray (Gulp Alive Attractant).  It makes sense to put some of this on some plastics or to soak them, but was wondering if anyone puts it on their cranks.  It would seem like that stuff would come off right after it hit the water.

Have some too but only used them once and didn't catch anything. Believe they SHOULD work though. They seem to work like magic on those fishing shows. I do use crappie nibbles by berkley and swear by them for crappie.

I absolutely believe Power Bait and Gulp work for panfish and catfish. I think they work for walleye. I am uncertain about bass, but at worst it is not a negative for bass.

I used the old, old, old product Berkley Strike. I would apply it to panfish jigs. You got bit immediately, but it did not stay on bait long at all.

FWIW, I absolutely hate the smell of Gulp Alive. It's a messy product and hard not to have it spill, but it works.

Kick N Bass smells so bad that I don't care if it catches fish or not. I refuse to use it. I threw what I bought into the garbage after using it one time. Awful.

I bought some 3" gulp leeches quite a few years ago. I haven't had any luck with them. They came out with bigger one's, I think 5" after I bought mine. I would think the bigger one's might be better. In my humble opinion, real meat is better than plastic most of the time. I've used gulp crawlers on slow death when little blue gill and bass are slicking worms off my hooks. I've had some success with the berkley alive pinched crawlers in those instances as the little fish can't get them off the hook as easily, so you have bait in the water in stead of a bare hook. Let us know how the leeches work for you!

I'm tipping jigs with Gulp or Road Runner heads with Gulp. I'm not trolling them or fishing them in place of live bait.

I prefer a live leech on a road runner.... only problem is I change how I fish so fast that there would be a chance all the leeches would die on me that day.  I went with gulp so I can store them and if I try it for half an hour or so I could just move on and troll cranks.  I know you can get live ones at Southwind Motel.  Like $4.50 or so for 14 of them.

I've tried them on a jig in the evening, caught bass and channel, I haven't tried them in a while. I have never tried them on a bouncer. Hmmm have to try some stuff now.

I've caught a lot of walleye with live leeches on a one hook harness up north. Have brought some of the left overs to Stockton and just didn't have much luck with them there. The guy at the Happy Hook bait shop in Stockton has told me people were having luck with leeches, but he's in the business of selling bait. I've always gotten more bang for my buck with crawlers...but that's just me.
