Mike Worley Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Fairview ramp is AG&FC not a USACE ramp. There has never been a fee for those ramps. The ramps operated by USACE are the only ramps requiring a day use fee or permit. With the exception of Browns Beach which is operated by the city of Bull Shoals and requires a permit issued at city hall or day use fee at the park. Most of the boat ramps on the lower end of the lake are AG&FC but the ramps located in parks like Oakland, Diamond City & Tucker Hollow are USACE and are subject to the fees.
Stein Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 Thanks Mike, that clears things up for me. Since I live 2 miles from Fairview I don't see changing much. Ham 1

Its a BIG lake and there are lots of times when other areas of the lake are Red Hot compared to Jimmy Creek. I would never ever consider limiting myself to that one area. Maybe after you move down full time, you'll look at other areas of the lake. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Bluff-Bassin Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 It might be kind of beneficial if we compiled a list of the free accesses to the lake. Here are a few I can think of. MO side: Spring Creek Launch off HH - Concrete with Walkway Pontiac(Not %100 sure) Concrete with Walkway Ark Side Howard Creek off CRD 15 - Concrete with Walkway. Also important to note, COE launch fees are only required during the warmer months. I'll double check in the next few days but I'm pretty sure its only required April 1 - September 30.
Jerry Rapp Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 the COE ramp fees are one of my irritations for life, and I retired after working 33 years for them. Bill Clinton's administration implemented this. It didn't matter that our tax payer dollars paid for the lakes and ramps in the first place. IMHO, this was one of the first of the spreading the wealth syndrome. I talked to several of the Lake Managers in our District, and they all said it cost more to administer than it brought in. One of those things that make you go huh? And I saw many, many, many of these in my career. tho1mas 1
