I guess I will give it a go again this year,(a walleye in each month from Stockton) this is one of eleven for July, all on a spoon, this one still lives in the lake.

Probably wrong but would think it will get tough in the colder months using that spoon.  You say "a spoon" so maybe there are other spoons that fall slower and flutter more. If not then you can always tip it with a minnow or worm. :D

You are right I don't think the spoon will work in the cold water unless I just dangle it with a minnow. I am not really worried about the means just the catch. I will probably be throwing a jerk bait or a jig when the temps get low. For now I am having a blast with the spoon, can you tell :D

Yes, and I too love to use spoons. In fact was schooled by the very person whose name appears on the one you're holding (assuming it is a Binks spoon).

I know what will work in the cold months. Jigging rap, designed for ice fishing which you will be doing but without the ice.

I have tried them and caught fish on them through out the year, but I cut the front hook off, I also have lost everyone of them due to snags, I went to the shiver minnow, the lipless cranks work well too.

Thank you for the suggestion

Same here. Seems like I can't put one in the water without getting hung up.
