aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 It all started 48 days ago when i took my Xi5 in under warranty, The wires in the head of it melted together. I had ran this motor for 18 months without an issue until this. Took it to marine repaor in springfield. They are great guys and did everyting they could but motorguide didnt have the part i needed which was the control board. Took it in on May 31st, they called me the next day and said i needed a control board and they were on back order from motorguide until june 28th. I was pretty bummed but i waited until july 6 or 7th and caled and they said they still had no word from motorguide..... I called motorguide and asked about the part and they had no answers. I said well i need a new motor shipped to me or pull the part off a new one, i waited for over a month. I kinda feel like for the price of that troller i was paying for some good warranty service too. The guy on the phone was very nice and said he would email the vender that builds that part and see when they will be ready. thought to myself "great" he is sending a freaking email for me... Well got a call the next morning bright and early saying they were shipping the part out that day. Not sure how or where they found one but i guess the moral of the story is to call and give them some flack. I know they didnt want to send me a new 1500$ motor..... My rant is over, hopefully it will be ready for me Monday

I have a tracking number now so i actually believe them this time. I will never buy another motorguide product again after this once craps out.....Lies after lies.
dan hufferd Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I hope that doesn't happen to me. I had trouble with the gps, customer service was so bad that I had to take it back to BPS and swap it for another one. I was inside my 90 days so it worked. I am sacred now, anybody want to buy an xi5 80?

Would be easier than dealing with motorguide....I actually love the motor and havent had any issues in 1 1/2 years. Marine repair in Springfield said they will get it fixed the day the part comes in, so hopefully ill be good by the weekend
