Water Temp 87, Visibility 4 to 6 feet, Fog early.

Left the marina at 7 AM resolved to do better than recent trips. I began at a late summer run I discovered last year. I started with a large silver blade worm harness and promptly caught a keeper meanmouth from 26 feet of water.

I fished two other locations over the next two hours without catching anything.

I went exploring and finally located schooled fish in 29 feet of water but 40 minutes of spooning yielded one half-hearted bump and no hook up. However the depth was a clue. I went to a fourth location and began dragging the harness again, this time in 28 to 32 FOW.  Within an 40 minutes I hooked up twice. One walleye was 23 and the other 24 inches. I decided to quit rather than be greedy.

Nice work! Those are two giant eyes!  I couldn't manage to troll any up.  I was over commited to the spoon and it cost me lots of worm fish.  I felt like I was trying to force feed them the spoon as well.  It was tough! I saw em on the graph and fish would willingly eat a crawler,  but wouldn't touch my spoon.  I don't get it...the crawler fish were spitting up spoon shaped shad.

great job in continuing the search and believing what the electronics are telling you.  a couple of 2 ft. toothy critters is darn good.  i bet it took a bit to get them up to the boat.
