Hog Wally Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I can't remember the river being up and or dirty for this long. It's not gonna be pretty again til next week around stclair. Mitch f 1
Seth Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 No kidding! I heard the Gasconade was in really good shape last weekend, but all this rain will have it jacked up again by this weekend I'm sure. There are a few guys who thrive under these conditions, but I am definitely not one of them. Hog Wally 1

I kind of feel the same way, even if I have a better chance to catch larger fish I really don't want fish a high muddy river, especially for a weekend. Looks like I'm going to have to pick a river out of my comfort zone for the next overnighter. Members carptracker Posted August 5, 2016 Members Posted August 5, 2016 Wednesday evening left Hermann and went down to our place by Steelville. Dry Creek was really rolling/muddy and the Bourbeuse was high/muddy. Was surprised to see the Meramec normal and clear. There is some good water coming your way! We had 5-6" Tuesday night in areas around Hermann. At our Hermann location we had two 10' culverts sitting side by side get washed out (2-10 footers can handle a lot of water).
Seth Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 The rain should stop here in a few weeks for at least a month. That's when we usually start planting food plots for the deer and WANT rain. Last year our plots that got planted around Labor Day didn't see rain till around October 20th.

Planning on putting some seeds in the ground this weekend, should pretty much guarantee a drought thru about November, lol. Seth 1

Please tell me it's looking better already.. I'd like to get the jet boat out this weekend and catch some browns...
