Yes, because Nick Saban and El Chapo are basically the same person.

Wow. That went right over both of your heads. Forget it. I'm definitely not going to argue over college football.

What? I was in total agreement with you. Saban is the El Chapo of college football.

I was referring to JoeD and OTF. But apparently you missed the point too. It had nothing to do with Saban being like El Chapo. Never mind.

Hey I'm not grumpy. Just thought it was pointless to try and explain when I really don't care one single bit about college football. I have no team. I seldom watch any of it.

Missouri was a mediocre offense from being a good team last year.  We were in every game, even though it didn't feel like it with our offense.  I am not sure what to expect, but it would almost be statistically impossible for our offense to be that terrible again.  Missouri will not win playing freshman and sophmores...even the bluebloods only do this occasionally. If we have any kind of offensive line, we will be fine, but that is the big question mark.  Alex Ross will be huge on special teams.  Our defense should be great again.

Gary Danielson, who historically has been a big Missouri critic, has us as his dark horse in the East.  I am optimistic that we will all be pleasantly surprised.

The lack of info, and closed practices is driving me nuts. There are whispers that Lock has impressed and i have actually heard the OL is doing fine, but depth is big issue.

September 3rd can't come soon enough!

I got exactly what you were saying. I also thought it was a little silly.

I got it. Wasn't upset or anything. Didn't go over my head.  Nick Saban is well hated. I'm defending my daughters school (not too well obviously) that pays her to go there. And Nick Saban and his program, I believe, bring in money that allows the university to pay for her education. We're grateful.

Upon further review, my response was, admittedly, pretty lame (shocking).

Thoughts from opening night:

1. Is Tennessee any good? They didn't look like it. It could be that they just overlooked Appalachian State and will end up being fine, but we assumed that about Auburn last year when they almost lost to Jacksonville State....and they ended up dropping from the top-5 to a 6-6 season. The bottom line is it's too early to tell. Your performance in Week 1 doesn't always mean much about your team going forward, unless you actually lose. Still, if they don't play better next week against V. Tech, you can add Butch Jones to the list of SEC coaches that might be looking for a new job in December.

2. Speaking of that....Derek Mason might not even make it to December. What the heck was he doing putting a backup QB in, when his starter was playing effectively, in a critical game against an SEC opponent? It killed their early momentum and they took a loss they absolutely could not afford. Now their bowl hopes are basically dead, and if they can't beat Georgia Tech in a couple weeks (and I doubt they can) you are maybe looking at a 2-10, 3-9 type season for a team that many thought could win 6-8 games. A disastrous night for Vandy against a South Carolina team that looked awful even in victory.

3. The Mizzou/WVU game needs to get here, quick.

Wow was TN lucky last night. A fumble by TN that ended up bouncing into the end zone and recovered by TN to win it.  That was hell of a hit on Dobbs too. Butch Jones had to be watching his career slip away right in front of him.  App St is a pretty good team, but that should not have been close.  The TN OL was manhandled all game.  That will need to turn around quick.

Vandy and SC looked pretty bad. Kinda like watching Mizzou last year.   Yep, Mason is pretty bad coach, which is a shame because he can build a defense.

My early thoughts are the East is going to be wide open.
