Kayser Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 We have less than one week until migratory birds kick off. September 1 is Missouri dove, and Illinois dove & early goose. September 3 is Illinois teal. September 10 is Missouri teal. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm starting to get excited for this fall. Calls are tuned, waders are patched, chokes have been swapped. And there is a yellow dog running around somewhere that is ready for her first full season. BilletHead and JohnP 2 WARNING!! BilletHead Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 There are some teal around. Seen some off and on for a couple of weeks . slothman Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I've been seeing lots of doves in the past week around corn fields.
Russell Doughty Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Every power line around here (Nixa, Mo.) has doves on it. My grandson and I went for another dove tune up at Ozark Shooters on Saturday and got some excellent instruction from Ed. We are going to join my son on opening day at West Plains, Mo. It will be my grandson's first hunt. BilletHead and ness 2
snagged in outlet 3 Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 St Charles County is filthy with doves as usual. I'd like to setup on a recently graded site around with lots of crab grass and a power line. I know several great spots but you'll be arrested after the first couple birds
JohnP Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Been seeing quite a few dove and teal around. Looking forward to it. BilletHead 1
MOPanfisher Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 According to the weather peeps, opening day of dove season should be beautiful, front moves through wednesday, bringing cooler drier air and clear skies on thursday. I am looking forward to it, had to miss last year due to medical reasons and while not even close to tuned up shooting g wiae, I have plenty of shells. Now bring on the doves.
