I went out in the fog this morning around 6:30. I wanted to try a new to me top water, the Deps Spiralminnow.

Caught two dinks and had on two maybe keepers that jumped off.

Around 8 I started hunting walleye. I found one on a drop off from a 22 foot deep flat into the channel. The fish was holding somewhere around 25 to 27 feet deep and hit a crawler harness.

The surf came up about 10:30 so I called it a day.

Water temp was 81.

Yes it did, and at different speeds. You did not need to put the rod tip in the sky and reel slowly. sit seemed like a slender and smaller buzz jet. Although I did not fish another tried and true bait to test the top water bite, I think this morning was not a "good day" for top water on the upper end. BTW, I did not pay 30 dollars for the lure. I caught a sale just right and used a gift card.

What intrigues me are the stutter steps. I just received the one I ordered and will try it next. They are very large.

If it takes a casting rod it might be done for me. I'm officially on the PUP list, think big baits might be a memory.

Can you be on both?  If so, there might even be another three or four that I qualify for.
