A buddy and myself went out early early Saturday morning, hoping to beat the crazies. We did for a while, but we're tucked back in a cove until about 11 am when the sun broke through, so we headed for the grill. We watched football, then went back out about 6:30 and sought cover in a similar cove.

We had a great time. Didn't catch 500 fish like you drop shot guys...that just isn't our style. Buddy caught a right at 5# largemouth in the picture, lots of good smallies, and I caught a 3.5# and another that we didn't weigh but looked like my first fishes twin.

We are not experts, but the only thing we noticed (naturally!) was that the water temp was in a cooling trend, pretty sharp compared to the last few weeks. I was hoping that some of your guys may have a comment. I've attached a graph of the last 30 days of temps at Indian Point, very near where we fished. We fished day and night of Sept 3rd (over holiday weekend), which is markedly the coolest water temp in the last month.

The fish seemed to be hammering our lures and were not shy. Any thoughts?

Great job, Ben! No doubt the falling water temps have the shad moving into the creeks and cuts, and the bass are naturally gonna follow.

Thanks for the report and, as always, for the great data.

Thanks for this. We had suspected this was the case! Neat to put it all together.
