Looking at the projections, they should be running a half unit all night. Would it be safe to fish from my boat at night with that water? Its a big boat, not worried about tipping or falling in. I am comfortable fishing still water from a boat at night but have never fished a river from a boat at night. Thanks for any input.

My biggest concern would be FOG! I hate trying to find my way anywhere in the fog on that lake.

Have to agree with likinmo on the fog being the biggest challenge.

There's been nights although I'd say rare at the trophy area where I was literally engulfed in fog where I had a hard time walking back to shore from wading out a bit.  Have to just rely on feeling first with the feet as you could just plain not see inches in front of your face.  It does come and go, and only for a few minutes have I ever had it be that thick, but wouldn't want to be trying to navigate in a boat like that.

As long as you could sit tight for a bit until it lightened up it could be manageable.  Not a boat guy here so hopefully a few others will chime in on being on that water at night.

We're getting into that fall season and starting to already see no-fog nights.  All depends on the humidity.

Depending on how big your boat is, you may not be able to put it in at the MDC boat ramp below the dam - too shallow.  And even then, you'd have a hard time going anywhere.  Shallow up and down from there.

Fishing the lake below Fall Creek would be ok.  Above FC, you'd have to know the channel REAL well.

off topic a little........if one was going to fish from fall creek to cooper creek after dark what would be a good bait Phil?  will they see or pick up on a jig in the dark good enough to fish it?

What'd I do...

Mount a small light on the boat's rim and point it just off the surface of the water.  Use a jig and float.

Killer!!!
